Getting started with apLedger
Connect the intended QuickBooks Online company and validate a bounded accounting workflow before enabling unattended synchronization.
Install and recover your download
- Back up the site and test on a staging copy first.
- Download the current ZIP from your purchase confirmation or My Account.
- Open WordPress → Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. Upload the ZIP, install, and activate it.
- Open the product’s License screen and activate the purchased key for the retail update and support service.
Authorize the correct company
- Open apLedger and its settings or connection controls.
- Use the guided QuickBooks authorization flow. Enter credentials only on the provider’s legitimate sign-in page, and select the intended company.
- Confirm the connected company identity and connection status in WordPress.
- Review the configured commerce connector and mappings. Document which system owns each record type and field.
- Use a provider sandbox or an explicitly approved test record for your first synchronization. Review the resulting source and destination records independently.
- Test retry behavior and confirm that retries do not create duplicate accounting records before allowing scheduled operation.
Accounting boundaries
Installing the connector does not establish correct tax handling, accounting mappings, or reconciled books. Review those choices with the responsible business or accounting owner. Do not create, send, refund, or post real financial records merely to explore the interface.
Acceptance check
- The intended company is connected.
- Authorization refresh and disconnect behave correctly.
- A test record maps correctly and can be traced between systems.
- Failures and retries are visible; a repeated operation does not duplicate the record.
- Totals and statuses reconcile with the source and provider.
Updates, rollback, and support
Take a fresh backup before updating and verify the same workflow on staging. If an update causes a problem, restore your previous verified plugin package and database backup as appropriate. Do not uninstall a plugin merely to troubleshoot it; data retention differs by product.
