Email magic links

Send existing users a one-time link so they can sign in without entering a password.

Passkeys

Enable passkeys for supported devices and browsers. Users sign in first to add their passkey.

SMS sign-in

Connect a supported SMS delivery service to send sign-in codes. Your provider may charge separately.

Free and paid editions

Free edition

View free community source on GitHub (the GitHub source does not include the store updater).

The free store edition includes the core sign-in methods and receives free updates in WordPress. If you installed version 0.2.4 from this site, install the current free ZIP manually once to enable future automatic updates. SMS requires a delivery connector; passkeys must be enabled by an administrator.

Paid edition

Purchase a license for access to support and updates for the paid edition during your license term. The paid edition is installed as a separate edition.

Built for your site

Use WordPress’s registration flow for new accounts. apFreepass signs in existing users and does not create accounts from a magic-link request.

Use one edition at a time. Before uploading the paid edition, deactivate the free edition and make sure another administrator sign-in method works. Keep another way for users to sign in while you configure and test passwordless access.

Annual support and updates

Annual licenses provide support and access to paid-edition updates during the license term. Requirements: WordPress 6.4 or later and PHP 8.0 or later. Contact support for setup questions.
